20 Years of Blue Flag: a Pride That Looks to the Future
Twenty consecutive years of Blue Flag recognition are an important milestone for Cavallino-Treporti, one of the most appreciated seaside destinations in the Upper Adriatic. This award confirms the area’s ongoing commitment to environmental protection, quality of life and a sustainable tourism model built over time through collaboration between institutions, tourism operators and the local community.
In 2026, our coastline celebrates its twentieth consecutive year of Blue Flag recognition, one of the most prestigious international eco-labels dedicated to seaside and lakeside tourist destinations.
For Marina di Venezia Camping Village, this achievement has a particularly meaningful value. For many years, the campsite has actively contributed to achieving and maintaining the high standards required by the Blue Flag Programme, investing in sustainability, responsible management of the territory and environmental awareness.

What Is the Blue Flag?
The Blue Flag Programme is promoted by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), an independent international non-profit organisation that has been working since 1987 to encourage environmental sustainability policies in coastal destinations.
With the support of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the project has gradually expanded and now involves 49 countries around the world, becoming an international reference point for sustainable tourism.
Receiving the Blue Flag means meeting rigorous environmental, tourism and management criteria, which are constantly updated to encourage administrations and local operators to keep improving the quality of services, beaches and environmental protection.

Environmental Sustainability and Protection of the Sea in Cavallino-Treporti
Behind the Blue Flag there is not only a symbol, but concrete work made of checks, investments, planning and shared responsibility.
The quality of bathing waters is one of the fundamental criteria: only destinations that record excellent parameters throughout the previous season may apply. This is accompanied by requirements linked to wastewater treatment, separate waste collection, waste management, sustainable mobility, beach safety, urban furnishings and environmental education.
Today, the quality of the sea and beaches in Cavallino-Treporti is one of the elements most appreciated by the guests who choose this coastline for their holidays every summer.
Marina di Venezia Camping Village also takes an active part in this journey through careful resource management, the constant improvement of environmental services, the care of green spaces and dune areas, as well as daily commitment to separate waste collection and to raising guests’ awareness of sustainable behaviour.
Sustainability, in fact, is not only a goal to be achieved, but a responsibility to be shared with those who live in and choose our territory every year.
For guests, all this becomes a holiday shaped by quality, safety and authentic contact with nature, along one of the most appreciated stretches of the Adriatic coast.

Educating People to Respect the Environment
The Blue Flag also highlights the importance of environmental education, a fundamental element in building a culture of respect and protection for the territory.
For this reason, every season Marina di Venezia organises, together with its entertainment team, many awareness-raising activities dedicated to families and children.
Workshops, educational games, beach activities and experiences in contact with nature become valuable opportunities to share, in an engaging and enjoyable way, the importance of respecting the sea and the environment.
In recent years, these initiatives have been enriched through collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Dr Marco Picone, a well-known researcher in the field of environmental sciences, with whom special activities are developed to discover the coastal ecosystem and protect the Kentish plover, a small endangered wading bird that nests on the dunes of our coastline.
This educational journey makes the holiday not only a moment of relaxation, but also an experience of growth, awareness and authentic contact with nature.
Blue Flag in Cavallino-Treporti: Quality, Sustainability and Tourism
Over these twenty years, Cavallino-Treporti has grown while keeping its bond with the environment and with the landscape that makes it unique strong.
The Blue Flag is not only an award flying on the beach: it represents a culture of hospitality that places people’s well-being, the quality of the tourist experience and respect for the territory at its centre.
Celebrating this anniversary means looking with pride at the journey completed so far, but above all continuing to invest in the future, so that new generations can live in and discover an environment that is increasingly protected, sustainable and authentic.
