On vacation with children

A paradise for children – that’s how Marina di Venezia is often described. Reading about your children’s joy fills us with happiness and pride. Numerous attractions make their vacation unforgettable: the water park with its games, slides, and heated pools; our entertainment team’s activities, from baby dance to beach games and clubs for different age groups; Leo Park with ever-new games and services tailored for little ones; and of course, our large beach, awarded the Green Flag, recognizing child-friendly coastal destinations selected by paediatricians. Cavallino-Treporti is also child-friendly, thanks to its gently sloping beach, shallow waters, and recreational and safety services. In short, there’s a world for children to discover here, always in close contact with nature.

This year, Marina di Venezia proudly received the ACSI Award for “Nicest Campsite for Children in Italy” voted by families from all over Europe. This prestigious accolade affirms our dedication and fills us with gratitude for your continued support. .

But what can you do with children outside the campsite? Our area offers plenty to explore, from numerous bike paths in Cavallino-Treporti to nearby Venice and other lagoon islands.

Many families wonder if Venice is suitable for children. The answer is a resounding yes! Venice warmly welcomes young visitors, and with a few practical tips, your visit will be smooth and enjoyable. Strollers are allowed on vaporettos and throughout the city’s calli. We recommend bringing a lightweight and easily manoeuvrable stroller for a hassle-free experience. Venice’s churches, historic monuments, and picturesque bridges are ready to be explored. The city is busiest from morning to early afternoon, so consider visiting in the late afternoon when the sun's heat subsides, making it perfect for a sunset stroll. Alternatively, explore quieter yet central areas with well-equipped playgrounds, such as the Biennale and Sant'Elena gardens. For school-aged children, combine relaxation and culture by visiting the famous Biennale exhibition, which is dedicated to art this year and offers various family-friendly activities.

Another delightful way to explore our lagoon heritage is by visiting the island of Burano, the closest and most picturesque island, loved by children. A simple walk among the colourful houses is delightful, wandering through the typical calli, alleys, and squares in search of the most vibrant stuccoes. The most popular house on the island is the Casa di Bepi Suà, painted in multiple colours and geometric shapes. Giuseppe Toselli, known as Bepi, was a self-taught painter who began decorating the facade of his house in the 1960s with bright colours and various geometries, changing it daily and overlaying new designs over the old ones.

Venice, Burano, Murano, Torcello, Lido di Venezia, and other lesser known but fascinating islands are all easily reachable from Marina di Venezia, just two km from the boarding point. The Information Office team will be happy to explain numerous options, allowing you to move easily on your own or with organized tours

Staying on our coast, the bike paths are flat and easy to ride. A rich network of routes of various lengths, connected to Marina di Venezia, allows you to explore nature and local culture on two wheels, like the Via dei Forti with its fortifications and batteries or routes through the fields, discovering how the products that reach our tables grow.

Among the various offers, a boat trip is a pleasant option: through our Information Office, you can rent a small boat to explore the canals, either electric or motorized – a fun and immersive way to visit our coast from a different perspective.
