Christmas with Your Loved Ones

Marina di Venezia is often associated with summer, the sea, and carefree holidays. Yet, as December approaches, even here the festive spirit of Christmas takes hold. This special corner of Cavallino-Treporti becomes a meeting point for cultures not only in summer but throughout the year, thanks to the diverse backgrounds of our team. Each member brings their own story, creating a vibrant mosaic of traditions and experiences that enriches us all.

Livia and Enrico: The Heart of a Family Christmas

If you’ve visited Marina di Venezia, you’ve likely been greeted by the familiar smiles of Livia and Enrico at check-in. As Christmas nears, their home transforms into a cozy holiday workshop. By late November, their living room sparkles with a tree adorned in gold and red, while colorful ribbons frame the windows. The warmth of the season fills every corner, and the scent of freshly baked cookies drifts through the air.

Baking Christmas treats is a tradition Livia treasures, and Enrico steps into the role of her trusted assistant. Together little Brando, they roll out dough for gingerbread and chocolate cookies, using cutters shaped like stars, snowmen, and Santa himself. Over the years, their creations have expanded to include nougat, panforte, and delicate wreath-shaped meringues, lovingly packaged with grandma’s help. Their celebrations culminate with Christmas Eve dinner in Ca’ Savio and a traditional Christmas Day feast in Rovigo, where cappelletti in broth and zabaione pay homage to Livia and Enrico’s Emilian heritage.

Laura: From Childhood Summers to Team Member

For Laura, who hails from Herning, Denmark, Marina di Venezia is more than a workplace—it’s a place of cherished memories. As a child, she spent countless summers here, even gracing the pages of one of our promotional brochures. This year, Laura fulfilled her dream of joining our team, and like many of our guests, she found love along the way.

Christmas, for Laura, is steeped in Danish traditions. Celebrations take place on December 24th, starting with a family trip to church, followed by preparing a festive meal together: roast pork, caramelized potatoes, red cabbage, and the iconic dessert risalamande. This creamy treat includes a hidden almond, and whoever finds it wins a small prize. The evening ends with songs and dances around the Christmas tree, a Nordic ritual that embodies the heart of the season.

Sharing these traditions with her colleagues allows Laura to bring a piece of her heritage to Marina di Venezia, creating an even more meaningful connection with her team.

Massimo: A South Tyrolean Christmas in the Mountains

For Massimo, Chief Marketing Officer of Marina di Venezia, Christmas is a time to return to his roots in the enchanting alpine town of Vipiteno. In the days leading up to the holiday, reunions with childhood friends bring life to this picturesque village, as many return home from across Europe.

Christmas Eve is one of the most magical days, marked by the anticipation of Turmsingen, when carols are sung from the top of the town’s iconic tower, culminating in the timeless Stille Nacht – Heilige Nacht (Silent Night). On Christmas Day, Massimo gathers with family for a traditional meal of tortellini in broth and Vanillekipferl biscuits, lovingly made by his mother. And after two days of festivities, December 26th brings a return to the slopes, where Massimo finds his own special kind of holiday magic amidst the snow-covered peaks.

Through their stories, Livia, Enrico, Laura, and Massimo invite us to experience the richness of their Christmas traditions – a blend of rituals, flavors, and family moments that reflect the diverse cultural tapestry of Marina di Venezia.
