As you might expect, the Marina di Venezia employs a large team of staff spanning different ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience. Besides the fulltime members who have been our mainstay for many years, the group also encompasses recent additions who, despite their shorter tenure, are already making a positive impact. Those who have served longer naturally possess a wealth of experience and knowledge, while the newcomers bring a fresh and enthusiastic perspective. Additionally, refresher courses allow our staff to acquire further expertise and evolve alongside the company.
Embracing continuous training as an opportunity for team growth
We’ve already provided some idea of what it’s like here during the off season, illustrating that throughout winter we are hardly idle. Besides maintaining contact with our clients, we work in the background to ensure that your holidays with us remain as inspiring and enjoyable as ever. Our staff team continues to grow in experience and skills and our in-house training courses play a significant role in this regard. Among the regular courses held are those focussing on critical subjects such as safety, first aid, and emergency management. But here is much more.
The hospitality sector in our region has deep roots. In Cavallino Treporti, for the ninth consecutive year, the Patentino dell’Ospitalità training project, aimed at enhancing and promoting the area, is underway. This initiative involves training sessions and discussions led by qualified instructors and experts, focusing on specific topics of the hospitality industry. The broad range of seminars and educational programmes on offer provide our team – from ordinary staff to managers, and supervisors – with regular growth and exposure to the latest innovations in the hospitality sector. Themes include sustainable management practices, local history, and communications.
But Marina di Venezia is also firmly committed to a programme of personalised training in order to strengthen the individual skills and professional qualities of our team. We believe that continuous education is essential for personal growth and improvement. As underscored by the wide range of courses, each course has been carefully designed with our individual employees in mind.
In March last year the Marina di Venezia team took part in an educational seminar in Merano/Meran, South Tyrol. Devised by a pop anthropologist, the innovative approach brought together entertainment and education, mirroring the evolution of tourism. Besides the sheer enjoyment of the event, it also enabled us to exchange views and ideas on a range of highly stimulating and relevant topics. Our delegation returned home enthusiastically brimming with new ideas.
During the current winter season new courses focussed on the refinement of hospitality industry practices, with some members of our staff even venturing outside the Veneto region to gain additional knowledge and experience. Many of us are also engaged in foreign languages courses, essential in effectively communicating with guests from across Europe, while other courses are designed to enhance digital skills. While on the topic of computers, our IT specialists implemented software updates and system improvements to facilitate and streamline procedures aimed at providing better services for our clients.
In short, we do everything we can to stay up to date – and sometimes we may even be slightly ahead! Whatever the case, we remain committed to improve and grow to offer guests the best holiday experience possible.
