Cavallino-Treporti is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, offering the ideal setting for outdoor holidays. This picturesque strip of land between the sea and the lagoon attracts many visitors who quickly fall in love with its charm. But life here isn't just about relaxation; there’s a vibrant array of events and activities to make your days and evenings lively and engaging. From international artists performing at the camping village, to markets along our Listón and the coastline, to sports events, festivals, and musical gatherings, the entire season is packed with excitement.
Sand&Sound Kicks Off a Summer Full of Events
One of the first major events is the Palio Remiero delle Contrade, a traditional Venetian rowing regatta that has been held since 2000 in early June. This event harks back to 1948, reviving the ancient competition that highlights the historic rivalry between the vegetable growers of Sant’Erasmo, the Vignole, and Cavallino, who would row to the Rialto Market each morning to sell their produce. These trips turned into real races to secure the best spots at the market.
Cavallino-Treporti’s community is tightly knit, but each village belongs to a contrada, a district, and every contrada has its own festival. These festivals celebrate local traditions, cuisine, and culture, offering a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in an authentic experience, savor distinctive culinary specialties, and engage in various cultural and recreational activities.
Art lovers can look forward to numerous exhibitions held throughout the year at the Daniele Manin Cultural Center in Ca’ Savio, the Pascoli Cultural Center in Cavallino, and the village of Lio Piccolo.
The summer officially begins with the solstice on June 21st and it couldn’t be kicked off in a better way. Music lovers and those seeking a unique experience by the waves can enjoy a magical night under the stars. This evening of music celebrates community, culture, and the natural beauty of our coastline. Returning for the seventh year, Sand&Sound is an unmissable event in Cavallino-Treporti. This live music extravaganza spreads across 30 locations along the coast. Launched in 2016 as a spectacular one-of-a-kind event, it features a variety of music, from concerts to favorite covers, all under the artistic direction of the Aurora Wind Band. Founded in 1886, this local association continues to promote music to this day. Many participating bands are local to Cavallino-Treporti, but musicians from neighboring areas are also invited, ensuring everyone has the chance to perform at Italy's most popular beach. These free concerts guarantee high-quality performances. Following its debut success, Sand&Sound has become a highly anticipated annual event.
Spanning 13 kilometers of beach from the Punta Sabbioni Lighthouse to the Cavallino Lighthouse, the live performances cover genres ranging from pop to reggae, blues to jazz, 80s/90s hits, classical music, famous band covers, rap, samba, and much more.
With its beach bars and beachfront restaurant, Marina di Venezia actively participates in this grand music festival, offering four concerts to enjoy on its beautiful sandy shores.
The summer then bursts into life with a packed schedule of events at our campsite and along the coastline, creating unforgettable moments and emotions. The pinnacle of these celebrations is Beach on Fire, the renowned record-breaking fireworks display in Cavallino-Treporti. On the last Saturday of August, the 13 kilometers of beach will be illuminated by fireworks, delivering a truly breathtaking spectacle.
